The Austin School of Classical Ballet carefully trains each student using personalized correction to ensure superior technical skill and beautifully expressive dancing. We use the classical Russian ballet method (the Vaganova method) as a guide. In major dance companies in America and worldwide, many of the most famed and accomplished dancers use the Vaganova method as their technical base.
Why Vaganova Method?
The Vaganova (pronounced Vah-GA-no-vah) method is a time-tested classical technical method, producing dancers with strong turnout, high extensions and fluid upper bodies free of stylized elements. Because the method provides a solid and comprehensive base, dancers can use it to adapt to a variety of different dance techniques and styles as needed. The Vaganova technique provides technical excellence and versatility, while also being body-friendly and minimizing the risk of injury.
